Medical Applications The HP1500H is designed to protect workers, patients and visitors from airborne infectious diseases, and eliminate the need for negative air pressure systems, currently used in isolation rooms. The Sol-Air decontamination system is a patented proprietary technology that eliminates bacteria, viruses, and molds as well as VOC’s from the room. VOC’s include odors from cleaning products and off gassing from other synthetic products such as carpets, and other forms of unpleasant odors such as food, garbage, and sanitary odors. This is accomplished through photo oxidation of the contamination by an enhanced UV light produced inside the enclosure of the HP1500H. The UV light also produces hydroxyls that circulate and disinfect throughout the room with the processed decontaminated air. The ultraviolet light catalyses the breaking of ambient oxygen and water vapor molecules into 0- and 0H (hydroxyl) radicals. These short-lived free radicals oxidize the more complex molecules of the contaminant, with the radicals being used up in the process. The end result is a sequential and instantaneous gas breakdown with very little byproduct; made up mostly of C02, water vapor, molecular oxygen, trace ozone. The HP1500H’s portability and ease of set up enables it to be used in a multitude of applications within a health care facility. The HP1500H is most commonly used in TB isolation rooms, to help prevent the spread of communicable diseases between patients, visitors and workers. The systems are also used in morgues, common areas and waiting rooms. The HP1500H is used in rooms where open wounds, such as burns, are exposed to the air, preventing infection as well as eliminating any unpleasant odors caused by the dressings.
